Ko e ha e ʻuluaki meʻa ʻoku ke fai ʻi he taimi ʻoku ke foua ai ha taimi faingataʻa? ʻOkú ke fekumi nai ki ho fāmilí mo e kaungāmeʻá pea vahevahe mo kinautolu e ngaahi meʻa ʻokú ke hohaʻa ki aí? Do you ask others for help? Or do you ask Allah SWT first and foremost?

Unfortunately most people turn to others to complain rather than speak to Allah when problems occurand making dua to Allah comes after.

Ibn Abbaas radiyallahu ‘anhu said: One day, I was riding behind the Prophet when he said: O boy! I will instruct you in some matters. Protect the commandments of Allah, He will preserve you. Safeguard His Rights, He will be ever with you. If you seek help, seek help from Allah alone; and if you need assistance, supplicate to Allah Alone for help. And remember that if all the people gather to benefit you, they will not be able to benefit you except that which Allah had foreordained (for you); and if all of them gather to do harm to you, they will not be able to afflict you with anything other than that which Allah had pre-destined against you. The pens had been lifted and the ink had dried up. [ʻI-Tirmidhee]

This beautiful hadith is proof that we should only EVER turn to Allah FIRST and foremost before anyone else. And if Allah wills, He will make a way out of the situation for you by sending you the appropriate help.

Allah LOVES those whose reliance is completely on Him, so do yourself a favour and the next time trouble hits you, call upon Allah FIRST before you speak to anyone else and watch how your life changes.
