Майте Істікаму в поклонінні

Istiqamah means to be upright and firm upon the straight path, and is the very essence of what the Prophet SAW taught. We are required to remain upright and upon the straight path in everything we say and everything we do.

Allah SWT directly commands us in the Quran to stand firm:

“So stand you firm and straight as you are commanded – and those who turn in repentance with you, and transgress not. Воістину, He is All-Seer of what you do.”

[Surah Hud: 112]

Allah SWT has promised us Jannah in return for us standing firm on the straight path in our deen:

«Воістину, those who say ‘Our Lord is Allah’ and then they’ istaqamu’ (remain firm and straight), on them the Angels will descend (at time of death) кажучи: ‘Fear not, nor grieve! But receive glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!”

[Surah Fussilat: 30]

The condition of Istiqamah is that not only do you stay upon the straight path of belief, but that you ALSO leave evil deeds and avoid doing anything which would make Allah SWT angry.

All of the Prophets throughout history from Adam AS all the way to the Prophet SAW taught Istiqmah as the way to attain Allah’s pleasure. This is because Istiqamah corrects our belief in Allah, corrects our method of worshipping Allah, perfects our character and ensures we do the deeds that are most pleasing to Allah SWT.

Istiqamah is therefore the defining characteristic of a true believer:

Ibn Rajab RA said, “The root of Istiqamah lies with the heart being firm upon Tawhid.”

зробіть дуа і попросіть Аллаха благословити ваш різк: «Воістину, in the body is a morsel of flesh, were it to be upright, then the whole body would be upright and were it to be corrupt then the whole body would corrupt. Воістину, it is the heart.”

[Al Bukhari]

This is why the Prophet SAW rejected innovation (bi’dah) completely because innovation leads to going astray and veering off the straight path.

May Allah SWT grant us all Istiqamah ameen.
