We make Wudu’ numerous times a day most commonly before Salah but not limited to it. It is a physical act with physical benefits but it has many other benefits as this hadith highlights very clearly.

Abu Hurairah (Jade) royin pe ojisẹ Ọlọhun (SAW) sọ, When a Muslim, or a believer, washes his face (in the course of Wudu’), every sin which he committed with his eyes, will be washed away from his face with water, or with the last drop of water; when he washes his hands, every sin which is committed by his hands will be effaced from his hands with the water, or with the last drop of water; and when he washes his feet, every sin his feet committed will be washed away with the water, or with the last drop of water; until he finally emerges cleansed of all his sins. (Musulumi).

It might be worth looking at our state of mind before or whilst performing Wudu’. Do we dismiss it as ‘a quick wash’ before Salah, or do we realise we are following Allah SWT’s command, the Prophet’s (SAW) Sunnah, by removing sins and not forgetting preparing for Salah?
